JAMAICA BLUE MOUNTAIN Espresso tasting pack

2x 250g, 1x 500g whole beans

One of the most expensive and highest quality espresso beans in the world, the Jamaica Blue Mountain bean. And its name is no coincidence – it is exclusively grown in the Blue Mountains along the coast of Jamaica. It was the Jamaican governor Sir Nicolas Lawes who received some Arabica coffee plants as a gift in 1728 and planted them high in the Jamaican mountains. No one guessed that the growing conditions there would be absolutely the best.

The growing region in the highlands of St. Andrew offers steady temperatures of 25-30 degrees Celsius at over 2000m above sea level. Fluctuations of just 10% in humidity and 5 degrees in temperature throughout the year make the climate perfect for cultivating Jamaica Blue Mountain beans.
Due to millions of years of tectonic movements around the island of Jamaica, the island has been enriched with an abundance of valuable minerals from the earth’s interior. Additionally, St. Andrew on the island’s north coast receives up to 5000mm of rainfall annually, which, combined with the consistent warmth, causes much fog formation. Under these conditions, the coffee cherries grow particularly slowly and develop an irresistibly mild but uniquely flavorful aroma during this ripening period.

Harvesting Blue Mountain beans is exceptionally tricky. Picking the valuable, ripe coffee cherries on Jamaica’s steep slopes is a task only the most experienced coffee pickers can perform.

Flavor-wise, the beans offer a perfect harmony of light sweetness, barely noticeable acidity, and fruity to nutty notes. Together with the intense aroma and long-lasting aftertaste on the palate, the Jamaica Blue bean becomes something truly special.

All three espresso blends in this tasting set are refined with this high-class bean variety.

Passaparola Espresso Leggenda

The Passaparola Espresso Leggenda – "the legend" – stands for exquisite coffee enjoyment inspired by Neapolitan espresso culture.
Roasted with passion, this noble blend combines first-class beans from the best growing regions worldwide.

100% Arabica – an unparalleled taste experience
The Leggenda consists of 100% high-quality Arabica beans, including 5% of the rare Jamaica Blue Mountain. The beans come from South and Central America, Africa, Asia, and India, and are gently dark roasted to develop their full aroma. The result is an espresso of exceptional elegance and depth.

Fine aromas – a delight for connoisseurs
The Leggenda impresses with its harmonious flavor profile. Notes of macadamia give it a gentle nuttiness, while the fine sweetness of tonka bean adds elegant depth. A hint of floral honey rounds off the aroma and makes every cup a special experience.

Gentle crema and mild character
The pure Arabica blend produces a fine, golden-brown crema and a velvety mouthfeel. Due to its mild acidity and balanced intensity, the Leggenda is perfect for pure espresso as well as cappuccino or latte macchiato.

Italian coffee art – tradition meets perfection**
Caffè Passaparola celebrates the art of espresso and preserves Neapolitan roasting tradition. The name "Passaparola" – Italian for "word of mouth" – reflects the brand’s philosophy: quality that speaks for itself and is passed on with every cup.

Andraschko Espresso Buena Vista Primèro

The Arabica beans come from the best growing regions. Semi-washed Brazils, a Panama Boquete with an addition of the (probably best and most expensive coffee bean) Jamaica Blue Mountain. The rest remains a secret of Andraschko.

The Andraschko coffee manufactory roasts each variety separately in the Probat drum roaster. Only carefully selected Arabica coffees are used. The beans are slowly and gently roasted variety by variety at temperatures between 200 and 220 degrees before being blended into this balanced mixture.

Passalacqua Harem Espresso

Blend ratio: 100% Arabica / 5% of which are Jamaica Blue Mountain beans

Passalacqua Harem is the most noble blend from the Neapolitan roastery. Only 100% Arabica beans of the best varieties pass Passalacqua’s high-quality standards. The Harem consists of no less than 10 Arabica varieties.

Of course, each Arabica variety is roasted separately according to its own profile and only then blended with the other beans. This creates this magnificent blend, which is second to none. A coffee experience you simply can’t resist!
