The base is made of stainless steel. The wooden handle is designed to fit ergonomically in the hand. This professional tamper, sized at 58.4mm, is designed for barista competitions.

This tamper is a true delight to hold, and you won't want to put it down. Coffee grinders or tampers are essential tools for proper espresso preparation. To build up sufficient pressure in the portafilter and prevent water from passing through too quickly, the coffee grounds in the portafilter are compressed using the tamper.
