This coffee maker was designed by Alessandro Mendini in 2011. It is a tribute to Alfonso Bialetti. He designed the popular Moka Express coffee maker in the 1930s and was its first manufacturer. Few know that he was the maternal grandfather of the Alessi brothers.

The latter asked the famous designer Alessandro Mendini to reinterpret this ingenious invention with the help of contemporary design and continue the history of the Italian coffee maker with the MOKA ALESSI.

The result is a beautiful and harmonious shape. Completely new, but still recognisable as a successful reminiscence.

The method of coffee preparation, however, remains unchanged. Coffee prepared with a mocha is still considered a symbol of 'Italian coffee'. This simple and original method of enjoying coffee is also highly appreciated beyond national borders, thanks to its ease of handling and the fact that it does not require single-serve coffee, and is becoming increasingly popular.

This coffee maker can be used on gas, electric and glass ceramic hobs. However, not on induction hobs.

Aluminium has excellent thermal conductivity. It also gives the espresso a characteristic taste, created by the deposition of a thin layer of coffee on the inside walls of the coffee pot. It is therefore recommended never to clean it with dishwashing detergent.
